Reading is Fundamental (RIF) Reading Volunteer: Read to a MNPS elementary classroom five times during the school year and bring books for each child to take home. Each visit is approximately 30 minutes, and the full experience requires 8-10hrs throughout the school year. Volunteering requires transportation, computer/email access, and a background check.
Ready for Reading (R4R) Reading Volunteer: Visit a pre-K classroom 2-4 times a month throughout the school year for 30min visits to support early literacy development. Volunteering requires transportation, computer/email access, and a background check.
Oh! The Books We'll Read Virtual Reader: Record a video book read aloud to share with children on our YouTube channel
Book Processing: Sort, count, and organize books. Flexible number of hours and visits (M-F 9am-4pm year round). Can come as an individual or group up to 20 people
Book Request Fulfillment: Select and pack up requested books for distribution
Sip 'n Sort: Book processing plus wine! Come to our office after hours with a group to sort, count, and organize books.
Read Me Day Reader: Read to a class of students for a special celebration of Literacy. Fridays in February 8-11am
Special Event Volunteering: One day volunteer opportunities often reading to kids, or staffing a booth
Book Transportation: Pick up and drop off book donations or requests
