Ready for Reading

Our Ready for Reading program places reading volunteers in local preschools and early learning centers. These reading volunteers serve as reading role models who read on a weekly or bi-weekly basis - one-on-one with small groups of children, or to an entire classroom. The weekly schedule allows the children to build a relationship with their volunteer and anticipate their visits with excitement. Training is provided to aid volunteers in having a successful experience by reading aloud as well as engaging with the children beyond the story.
